Culture
& Events: Association A Pieve d'Olmia (tel 04 95 62 78 99) - they
organise, for example, concerts by Corsican singing groups & the
annual Christmas bonfire on the church square.
Cultural
& Sporting Activities: Associu Petra Mova was set up by young
people in the village to organise cultural and sporting activities;
they also aim to contribute to the preservation of Calinzana's heritage
and environment. Activities such as traditional singing will be
organised through the winter season with a few bigger events in the
summer, eg St Antoine in mid-June (Sébastien Nouveau, secretary
tel 04 95 62 72 32).
Music:MusiCal organises
a good music festival in July (Rencontres Musicales Classiques & Contemporaines),
music classes for kids, traditional Corsican dancing (quadrille), rock
& tango classes and many other activities (tel 04 95 62 70 08).
Environment: I Sbuleca Mare is a Calinzana-based association dedicated to sensitise the public and especially children to the preservation of the marine environment; they have now organised a marine and a botanic footpath (they can be contacted on 06 30 54 26 28).
Social services: ADMR de Calenzana is the local branch of the widespread organisation that helps the aged and infirm at home. The public can also visit their office (La Maison des Services, not far from the Mairie) once a week to discuss needs. The president is Etienne Albano (04 95 62 03 56).
